In an emergency, call 112. It is Nigeria's number for the police, fire and ambulance services. The live trip's Safety screen shows Emergency? Call 112, which taps to dial it.
Pickup cannot send emergency services to you, so call 112 yourself.
In-app safety features are secondary information tools and do not constitute an emergency response service. Pickup does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted live monitoring, and automated prompts do not shift emergency response duties away from public authorities. In an emergency, call 112.
Save your emergency contacts
- Open Profile > Emergency contacts.
- Tap Add contact.
- Add up to 3 people, by their Pickup Tag or with their name, phone number and email. Add an email so we can reach them.
They are saved so you can call them quickly. Their details are used only as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Alerting your contacts
On a live trip, tap Safety, then Alert my emergency contacts. They get your live location by email, and in the app if they are on Pickup. Pickup sends them no text messages.
If a live car or boat trip stops for 15 minutes somewhere unplanned, we ask "Are you OK?". You can have your contacts alerted if you do not answer within 5 minutes. Turn this on in Profile > Safety > Trip check-ins.
Sharing your trip
You can share a live trip link with anyone you choose by tapping Share on the booking. Anyone with the link can follow the trip until 1 hour after it ends, so share it only with people you trust. See How live trip tracking and sharing work.
Afterwards
When you are safe, tell us what happened so we can review the trip with the operator. See How to report a safety issue. The rules are in the Guest Terms.
