If you are involved in an accident during a Pickup trip, your safety and the safety of others come first.
Immediately
- Call 112 if anyone is hurt or in danger.
- Follow the instructions of emergency services and the chauffeur, captain or crew.
- Move to a safe place if you can.
- When it is safe, tap Safety on the live trip to alert your emergency contacts or share your trip with someone you trust.
Record what happened
- Take photos of the scene, the vehicles and any injuries, if it is safe to do so.
- Note the time, place and the names of any witnesses.
- Keep medical reports and receipts.
Tell Pickup
Report the accident in the app as soon as you can. Accidents and injuries come straight to our trust and safety team. Include your booking reference.
Making a claim
Pickup Charter is a booking platform and does not sell insurance. Your trip is provided by an independent licensed operator that holds its own commercial cover. Claims for injury or damage are made against the operator and its insurer. After an injury or severe property damage, Pickup gives the claimant the operator's insurance certificate details, its business name and registration details, and shares the booking records needed to support the claim, as set out in Dispute Resolution and Insurance Information.
You can ask the operator for its policy details before any trip.
Accident reports
Where the law requires, we report accidents during active trips to the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation. These reports hold only what the Regulation requires, such as chauffeur and vehicle details, and no guest trip histories.
