Claiming through your own insurer

When and how to claim on your own commercial insurance after an accident or damage, and how Pickup booking records can support your claim.

Your own insurance is the cover for every trip you deliver. Pickup Charter is a booking platform and does not provide, sell or arrange insurance. For accidents, serious damage or injury, your insurer is where a claim starts.

When to contact your insurer

  • An accident or collision during a trip.
  • Damage that is costly to repair.
  • Any injury to a guest, crew member or third party.
  • Theft or loss.

Check your policy wording for notification deadlines and follow them.

How to claim

  1. Make everyone safe. Emergency? Call 112 first.
  2. Report the incident from the booking's help icon.
  3. Notify your insurer as your policy requires.
  4. Share your evidence: timestamped photos, video, the trip record and any police or authority report.
  5. Allow inspection before major repairs if your insurer asks for it.

Using Pickup records

Pickup can help with booking records for your claim, such as the booking ID, times and assigned chauffeur or crew. Ask through the booking's help icon. Records are shared in line with Pickup's privacy obligations.

After an injury or severe property damage, Pickup gives the claimant your insurance certificate details, so they can claim directly.

Claims against the guest as well

You can raise a damage claim against a guest through Pickup's dispute resolution and claim on your policy. Tell both Pickup and your insurer, so nothing is recovered twice. See Raising a damage claim.

Keep your cover valid

A lapsed policy pauses your listing, cancels its upcoming bookings and may leave you without cover. See Insurance you must carry.
