What happens if weather or a major event stops my trip?

Some things are outside anyone's control. If severe weather, a regulator's directive or another major event stops your trip, either you or the operator can cancel without the usual cancellation consequence.

What you get back

You receive a refund of the total price, including processing costs, less a proportionate amount for any part of the trip already delivered. This is set out in the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Guest Terms.

Major disruptive events

Some events affect many trips at once, for example a government declared emergency, an airport or waterway closure, an airspace restriction or serious civil unrest. When Pickup declares a major disruptive event, it overrides the cancellation option for the bookings it affects. The Major Disruptive Events Policy explains which events qualify and which do not, such as ordinary traffic or a change of plans.

This policy deals with cancellations and refunds of what you paid through Pickup. It is not insurance.

What to do

  1. Check your messages for an update from the operator.
  2. If you want to cancel, tap Cancel reservation. The app shows the refund before you confirm.
  3. If you think the wrong refund was applied, raise it with support. See How to raise a dispute.
