Private jet charters are larger payments, so they are paid in a different way from cars and boats. How you pay depends on how far ahead you book.

Booked 5 or more days ahead

  1. At checkout you pay a 20% deposit by card. The amount is shown before you pay. Any part of the deposit above the card limit goes by bank transfer.
  2. The balance is paid by bank transfer within 48 hours. An invoice is sent to your email, with the account details.

The deposit. If you cancel, or miss the balance deadline, inside the notice window, you lose the deposit, because it covers the operator's positioning and lock-out costs. You tick a required box at checkout to confirm this. The box is not ticked for you. If you cancel before the notice window, the deposit comes back, less processing costs. If you have already paid the balance and cancel inside the window, half of the total comes back, less processing costs. The app shows the amount before you confirm.

Booked less than 5 days ahead

There is no card hold. Your card is charged in full at checkout, and checkout tells you this before you pay. Above the card limit, you pay by instant bank transfer instead.

If the operator declines or does not accept in time, you get a full refund. It goes back to your original payment method within 5 business days of Pickup sending it, and your bank may take longer.

The card limit

A single card payment is capped at ₦5,000,000. Anything above the cap is paid by bank transfer to an account created for your booking. The account details are shown in the app.

Security checks

Every jet card payment needs 3D Secure, the check your own bank runs to confirm it is you. The prompt comes from your bank, usually in your banking app. Pickup never sends you a code by SMS, and never asks for your card PIN.

Paying from abroad

You pay in naira, and your bank converts it. Bank transfers go from a Nigerian bank account. See Paying with a card issued abroad, and seeing prices in your currency.

When the operator is paid

None of your deposit or balance goes to the operator before the trip. The operator is paid 1 hour after landing, if you have not reported a problem, and nothing for a flight that never left. See How your payment is held until your trip.

The full rules are in the Payments Terms and the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
