How must I handle guest and crew personal data?

Your duties for personal data received through Pickup: use it only for the booking, keep it secure, tell your crew, report breaches in 24 hours.

You and Pickup are each responsible, separately, for the personal data you handle. Guest details you receive through Pickup may be used only to deliver the booking and meet your legal duties.

Guest data

  • Use names, phone numbers and trip details only to deliver the booking.
  • Do not copy guest details into your own marketing lists or contact guests for anything else.
  • Keep trip messages in the app.
  • Do not share guest details with anyone who does not need them for the trip.

Crew data

Pickup shares chauffeur and vehicle details with the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation as the 2023 Regulation requires, and only what it requires. Guest trip histories are not included. Before you assign a chauffeur, tell them their data is shared this way and point them to the Privacy Policy.

Keep it secure

Limit app access to the people who need it, protect devices with a passcode, and remove access when someone leaves.

If something goes wrong

Tell Pickup within 24 hours of becoming aware of any personal data breach affecting guest data or data received through Pickup, and cooperate so that each of us can meet any duty to notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

The full rules are in the Operator Agreement, the Operator Data Processing Addendum and the Privacy Policy.
