Guests pay when they book, by card or bank transfer. Payments are processed by Flutterwave, a licensed payment provider, and Pickup collects as your limited payment collection agent. The money stays in Pickup's balance with Flutterwave until it is paid to you by transfer or refunded. Each booking shows your payout and when it is released.
The journey of a payment
- The guest pays at checkout. Guests always pay in naira.
- The money waits. It stays in Pickup's balance with Flutterwave while the booking is upcoming. Nothing is paid before the trip.
- The trip starts on its own at the booked time (for a private jet, at wheels up). There is nothing for your crew to enter.
- Your payout is released 1 hour after the trip ends.
- You are paid. Pickup sends a transfer to your payout account, and you get a push and an email when it is sent. You see your payout on each booking, and the commission on your monthly statement.
When you are paid: bookings of 1 to 6 days
| Vertical | When your payout is released |
|---|---|
| Cars | All of it, 1 hour after the trip ends |
| Boats and yachts | All of it, 1 hour after the trip ends |
| Private jets | All of it, 1 hour after landing. Nothing is paid for a flight that never left. |
New operators are paid the same way from their first trip. See Payouts for new operators.
For a jet, open the booking and tap Approve manifest once you have reviewed the passenger details. Approve it before the cutoff. It does not release a payment.
When you are paid: bookings of 7 days or more
Long bookings are paid weekly, for cars, boats and jets alike. Each completed 7 days is released 1 hour after those 7 days end, and the rest 1 hour after the trip ends. Earnings shows the schedule, day by day.
How far ahead guests can book
Your Minimum notice and How far ahead settings decide this. A jet booked 5 days or more ahead takes a deposit, then the balance by bank transfer within 48 hours. A jet booked less than 5 days ahead is charged in full at checkout. See Listing private jets.
If the guest reports a problem
An open case holds the whole payout for that booking until it is decided. Earnings shows it as Held. We decide within 14 days and pay anything due with your next payout. You can add evidence from that screen. See How disputes are resolved.
Holds, reserves and chargebacks
- Flagged bookings. A booking or operator flagged for review waits up to 72 hours after the trip, or until the flag is cleared.
- Refunds after a release. If a guest's complaint is upheld after you were paid, the amount is charged to your Pickup balance. If your balance goes below zero, it comes off your next payout or payouts. A payout is never sent below zero. To clear it sooner, you can pay it back by bank transfer: the email telling you about the refund has the account details. Never pay the guest directly.
- You always see it. Each deduction is shown on the payout, as Taken off, with the reason. You get a push and an email when each payout is sent.
- Cancellations and no shows. If you cancel, the guest is refunded in full and you receive nothing for that booking. If the guest does not turn up, mark the no show in the app after 60 minutes, and you are paid as usual. See Guest no shows.
- Reserves. A reserve is used only in limited cases, within the limits in the Payments Terms.
- Chargebacks. The disputed amount is held from your next payouts while the bank decides. See Why might a payout be held?.
Never let a trip be recorded as started when it is not taking place. That is a serious breach of the Payments Terms.
Where to see your schedule
Open Menu, then Earnings. Upcoming lists what is due and when. Payouts lists what was sent.
What can delay a payout
- An open case on the booking, including a problem the guest reported or damage you reported.
- A flag on the booking or your account.
- Payout account details that are missing or not yet checked. Upcoming tells you if a payout needs attention.
- Missing tax details.
Never take payment outside Pickup
Cash or direct transfers fall outside your payout record and dispute resolution, and break the Operator Agreement.
Full rules are in the Payments Terms.
