What are the rules on drugs, alcohol and weapons for crew?

Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol on duty, no weapons for chauffeurs and crew, and what happens when a credible report is made.

Pickup has zero tolerance for impairment on duty. No chauffeur, captain, crew member or pilot may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while on a Pickup trip, and none may carry a weapon.

Drugs and alcohol

  • No alcohol or drugs before or during a trip that could affect safe operation.
  • A crew member who takes medicine that may affect alertness must not work if it affects safe operation.
  • Pilots follow the stricter NCAA rules.

Weapons

Chauffeurs and crew must never carry weapons. Security add ons on Pickup are unarmed and come only from NSCDC licensed private guard companies.

If a report is made

A credible report that a crew member was impaired on duty or carried a weapon leads to immediate suspension of that crew member while we investigate. You must cooperate, and the crew member is heard before any permanent decision.

Your duty

Make sure every crew member you assign knows these rules. If you suspect impairment, do not let them start the trip. Assign someone else in the app.

The rules are in the Zero Tolerance Policy and the Weapons and Prohibited Items Policy.
