Boats and jets carry the strictest gates on Pickup Charter. The contract of carriage is between the guest and you, the licensed operator. Pickup is never the carrier.
Crewed boats and yachts
No vessel listing publishes until these are on file and verified:
- Your own operator licence. A LASWA licence or permit for Lagos waterways, a NIWA registration for federal inland waterways, and a NIMASA licence for coastal and sea routes.
- Inspection. A seaworthiness or inspection certificate for every listed vessel.
- Approved passenger capacity.
- Marine insurance. Your own commercial cover, with passenger liability and hull cover, for each vessel. This is a hard gate.
- Licensed captain and certified crew. A NIMASA certificate of competency for the captain, and a seafarer medical for each crew member.
- Safety kit. Life jackets, the safety briefing and safety equipment, shown on the listing.
- Boarding jetty. The jetty or boarding point guests will use. Pickup doesn't control third party jetties and doesn't promise they are safe.
Boat trips run in daylight only, operators cannot switch this off, and life jackets are worn at all times on board. Infants count toward the capacity limit.
Private jets
No aircraft listing publishes until these are on file and verified:
- NCAA Air Operator's Certificate. Valid and in your company's name.
- Operations specifications. The aircraft must appear on your approved operations specifications. Aircraft only permitted for private, non commercial flight cannot be listed.
- Certificates of Airworthiness and Registration.
- Aircraft insurance. Your own cover, in compliance with the Montreal Convention. This is a hard gate.
- You are the operator and carrier. Your listing names your company as the AOC holder and operator. Include the NCAA's statutory sales charge in your charter price, and account for NCAA charges yourself. Pickup markets your flights and takes bookings as your agent, and never presents itself as the operator.
- Licensed crew. Pilots with an NCAA licence, a medical and a type rating, and cabin crew with an attestation.
Infants count toward the seat limit.
