Getting to know Pickup | Operators

How the Pickup Charter marketplace works for licensed operators: who does what, the three verticals, how pricing and commission work, and your tools in Operator Mode.

Pickup Charter connects guests with independent, licensed operators. We run the technology, verification and payment collection. You run the service.

Who does what

You, the operator, own or manage the vehicle, vessel or aircraft. You hire your chauffeur, captain or crew, set their pay and shifts, and decide which trips to accept. You hold the licences and insurance. The contract of carriage is between you and the guest.

Pickup verifies operators and guests and hosts your listing. Payments are processed by Flutterwave, a licensed payment provider, and Pickup collects as your limited payment collection agent. We publish the rules both sides follow and step in when something goes wrong. Pickup never owns, operates or crews the asset, and is never the carrier.

The three verticals

  • Chauffeur driven cars. By the hour, full day, airport pickups and drop offs, interstate trips and long-term hire.
  • Crewed boats and yachts. Daylight charters on Lagos waterways with a certified captain.
  • Private jets. Charter flights operated under an NCAA Air Operator's Certificate.

How you earn

You enter what you want to earn. The app works out one all in price for guests and shows both: You earn ₦X · Guests see ₦Y. A commission applies to completed bookings, at the rate in your Fee Schedule. It already includes VAT, and nothing is added on top. There is no listing fee and no surge pricing. See Commission and fees.

Your tools

Pickup is one app. Operator Mode gives you five tabs:

  • Home for today's trips, upcoming trips and requests
  • Calendar to open or block dates and set date prices
  • Listings to add and edit cars, boats or aircraft
  • Messages to talk to guests and send quotes
  • Menu for Earnings, Performance and Charter Elite, Reviews, Your crew, Team and access, Business details, Help and Safety

How every booking works

Every booking comes with verification, payment collected through Pickup, and a payout to you by transfer 1 hour after the trip ends. Long bookings pay weekly, and a flagged booking or an open case can hold a payout. You also get a published cancellation option, help in the app and a way to settle disputes. See How payouts work and What Pickup verifies.

Next: Creating your operator account.

The full rules are in the Operator Agreement and Verification and Compliance.
