What Pickup verifies

The company, asset, crew and guest checks behind every Pickup booking, the insurance hard gate, and the daily document check that keeps listings safe.

Verification is how Pickup decides who can list. Identity checks run through our licensed identity partner. Staff review the rest. Verification is a check for the platform. You stay responsible for every licence the law requires.

About you

  • Your company: CAC registration, a director's or signatory's BVN, TIN and proof of address. Only registered companies can list.
  • Your Responsible Person: a director, secretary or authorised staff member, with NIN, BVN and a live selfie check, or a manual review of two photos.
  • Insurance: your own valid commercial certificate for each listing. This is a hard gate. Pickup checks the document and doesn't sell insurance.
  • Operator Master Agreement: signed before you go live.

About your assets

  • Cars: hackney permit, vehicle licence, roadworthiness certificate and commercial insurance. Proof of ownership is optional.
  • Vessels: LASWA licence or permit, NIWA registration, seaworthiness or inspection certificate, approved passenger capacity and commercial marine insurance.
  • Aircraft: NCAA Air Operator's Certificate, operations specifications listing the aircraft, Certificate of Airworthiness, Certificate of Registration and aircraft insurance.
  • Security escorts: your agreement with an NSCDC licensed guard company. Unarmed only.

About your people

Every chauffeur, captain and crew member is invited to Your crew and verified with the papers their role needs. A chauffeur needs an NIN and selfie match, an FRSC driver's licence and your confirmation, and must be 21 or over. The LASDRI card is optional for now. Captains need a NIMASA certificate of competency and a seafarer medical. Pilots need an NCAA licence, a medical and a type rating.

About your guests

  • Guests sign in with an email code to browse.
  • Guests pay first. The booker then completes an ID check, by 24 hours before a car or boat trip. A trip booked later than that must be checked before it starts. If the check is missed, it counts as the guest cancelling, and checkout warns of this.
  • The check is automated, with a face match that needs the guest's consent, or a manual review of two photos by trained staff.
  • For jets, the booker adds the passenger manifest after paying. You review it and tap Approve manifest.
  • High value bookings can go through extra staff review.

Ongoing checks

A daily check pauses any listing whose document has expired, and cancels its upcoming bookings. Keep your documents current to stay live. See Keeping documents current.
