Every boat and yacht on Pickup is crewed. A licensed captain and crew operate the vessel. You plan the day; they handle the water.
Find a vessel
- Tap Search and select the boat icon.
- Under What kind of boat trip?, choose Cruising or Water transfer.
- Choose where you board from the approved departure jetties. For a transfer, also choose where you are going.
- Under When?, set the date, start time and how long.
- Add the people coming, then tap Search.
Check the listing's capacity. It is set by the vessel's licence and cannot be exceeded. Infants count toward the limit.
Plan around daylight
Boat trips run in daylight only: departure after sunrise and return before sunset. This is a Lagos waterways rule, and operators cannot switch it off. Choose a start and end time that keeps the whole trip in daylight, including your return to the jetty.
Book
Review the listing's photos, features, operator profile, reviews and cancellation option. Tap Check availability, add your trip, then tap Reserve. The listing tells you whether it has instant confirmation or is a request to book. At checkout, complete Guests on board, confirm Before you sail, add any extras and pay. Checkout shows the trip price, the service fee and VAT on the service fee before you pay. The operator is paid 1 hour after your trip ends, if you have not reported a problem. None of your payment goes to the operator before the trip.
On the day
- Arrive 15 minutes before departure for the safety briefing and life jacket fitting. Your trip starts on its own at the booked time.
- Your captain and crew are shown by role in the app. If the operator changes the crew, you are told in the app.
- Life jackets are worn at all times on board. This is not optional.
- The captain has final say on safety, route and weather. If conditions are unsafe, the trip may be delayed or cut short.
- Jetties belong to third parties. Pickup does not control them and does not promise they are safe, so take care when boarding and follow the crew. Tell us if a jetty looks unsafe.
Checks behind every listing
Vessel operators hold a LASWA licence in Lagos, and NIWA or NIMASA approvals where they apply. They also provide vessel registration and survey, passenger liability and hull cover, and a licensed boat master and crew.
