You can book a trip for someone else from your own account. You stay responsible for the booking, and the person travelling gets what they need on the day.
Before you book
Check that you have the traveller's permission to book for them and to share their name and phone number with Pickup and the operator. Let them know how we use their details: our Privacy Policy explains this.
How to book for someone else
- Search and choose a listing as usual.
- At checkout, tap Who's travelling and choose the lead guest.
- Choose Someone else and enter their name and phone number, or Someone on Pickup and find them by their Pickup Tag. The chauffeur or crew and the operator see this name and phone number.
- Confirm the total and pay. The trip starts on its own at the booked time.
What the traveller sees
A lead guest on Pickup sees the trip in their own app, including the chauffeur's name and photo once assigned, or the crew by role. On a car or boat trip, a lead guest on Pickup checks their own ID. Payment, changes and cancellation stay with you. For anyone else, tap Share on the trip to send them the live trip link.
Who is responsible for what
- You pay the total price and any change or extension you approve.
- You are responsible for damage or cleaning charges caused by anyone on the booking, under the Guest Terms.
- Every adult traveller is also responsible for their own conduct.
- Pass on the trip rules before the day, especially for boats and aircraft. For those trips, every traveller is covered by the Passenger Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk.
Booking for a business
If you book regularly for colleagues or clients, a company account can give you authorised bookers and one monthly invoice. See Company accounts for business travel.
