Private flights are quicker and calmer than airline travel, but there are still checks to complete before you board.
Before you leave
- Open your trip pack for the departure time, terminal and arrival details.
- Bring a valid government photo ID for domestic flights, and a passport valid for at least 6 months after the flight with any visa or entry documents for international flights. Every passenger must be on the approved passenger manifest. See The passenger manifest for private flights.
- Book a chauffeur to the terminal if you need one. See How to book a chauffeur to the airport.
At the terminal
- Arrive by the time in your trip pack. Your handler meets you at the door of the private terminal. Private terminals need less time than airline terminals, but identity and security checks still apply.
- The operator's team checks your identity and your passengers' documents against the manifest. Pickup passes the manifest on; document checks happen here.
- You and your bags go through security screening. This applies to everyone on every jet segment.
- The crew gives a safety briefing before departure. Your trip starts at wheels up.
Who makes the decisions
The operator holds the Air Operator Certificate and is the carrier for your flight. The pilot in command has final authority on safety, including weather, routing, weight and whether a passenger or item can fly. These decisions apply at the time they are made, under the Passenger Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk.
Price
Your charter price is the total for the flight, including the operator's charges, the statutory sales charge, Pickup's service fee and VAT.
If something changes
If the operator changes your crew, you are told in the app (for example, "Your flight crew has changed"). You do not need to do anything.
If the flight is delayed or diverted, see If your charter flight is delayed or diverted.
